Jammu–Srinagar highway, other key roads remain closed

Srinagar, Jan 24 : The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), along with the Mughal Road, SSG Road and Sinthan Road, remained closed for traffic on Saturday morning, officials said.

In a traffic update, the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police advised people not to travel on these routes until they are fully restored and declared safe for vehicular movement.

The traffic police also urged commuters to ignore rumours and rely only on official updates regarding road conditions.

They advised travellers to check the status of roads through the Traffic Police’s official social media handles and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).

Authorities said the roads would be reopened only after a thorough assessment of weather and safety conditions.(KNS).
