“We urge JD(U) cadre in the UT to go on a vigorous online membership drive of the party in order to strengthen and expand the secular, progressive and democratic space in the regions of the UT JD(U) party president G .m. Shaheen said
Addressing a function at the party headquarters Srinagar Rajbagh Shaheen said JD(U) is the only unifying force in the country and it has always taken care of the interests and aspirations of different sections.
Shaheen urged senior functionaries, district presidents, contesting candidates, besides block functionaries and representatives of Mahila, Youth to enroll new members while laying special emphasis on youth, women, minorities and other downtrodden sections of society.
He said this is the only way to defeat the designs of communal, divisive and opportunist forces in the Region shaheen said
The membership drive would see enrolment of new members and renewal of membership of party workers.
State JD-U president G M Shaheen praised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for banning alcohol in the state.
He said that liquor was responsible for many crimes and road accidents and following the example of Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir should also ban liquor in the state.
