J&K Assembly polls phase 1 sees 58.19% voter turnout by 5 PM

A voter turnout of 58.19 percent has been recorded in the J&K assembly elections by 5 PM, which are being held across 24 assembly constituencies.

Earlier, by 3 PM, the voting percentage stood at 50.65, while by 9 AM, the polling percentage was 11.11 percent.

The voter turnout is expected to be significant and may break previous records in some constituencies.

The constituencies witnessing polling are: Tral, Pulwama, Rajpora, Zainapora, Shopian, DH Pora, Kulgam, Devsar, Dooru, Kokernag (ST), Anantnag West, Anantnag, Srigufwara-Bijbehara, Shangus-Anantnag East, and Pahalgam from the Kashmir Division, and Inderwal, Kishtwar, Padder-Nagseni, Bhadarwah, Doda, Doda West, Ramban, and Banihal from the Jammu Division.
