Srinagar, Jul 29: For prima facie involvement in the alleged harassment and subsequent death of a local girl in Pulwama yesterday, J&K Bank today terminated Banking Attendant Aijaz Ahmad from the service. He was posted at business unit Ratnipora in Pulwama.
“Sounding a stern warning to its operational hierarchy for any kind of misdemeanor, the bank took extreme measure because human dignity and life was involved in the issue. Customer relationship remains the topmost priority of the bank management and there will be no compromise on dignity of our valuable customers”, said J&K Bank Chairman & CEO Parvez Ahmed.
“Our organisation is our pride. It takes years to build reputation and a moment to tarnish it. The incident has shaken our collective conscience as our employees in general and our organisation in particular are epitome of faith and trust”, the chairman said while expressing grief and sorrow on this unfortunate incident.
He added that all the employees are collectively and individually duty bound to safeguard and protect the fair image of the Bank. He has issued directions that any situation that involves unprofessional/unethical behavior warrants to be reported. “No matter how seemingly small, it must be reported and will be dealt with sternly”, said the chairman.
