Jammu, Apr 29: The Union Territory Cabinet is set to meet on Thursday in Jammu in what will be its final sitting before the Civil Secretariat shifts to Srinagar for the summer session, with several significant administrative and policy matters listed for discussion.
Sources said that the meeting, scheduled at 11 AM at the Chief Minister’s official residence, will take up the much-anticipated cadre review and restructuring of the Jal Shakti Department, along with deliberations on a proposed Memorandum of Understanding under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Among the key proposals, the Cabinet is expected to consider approval of Recruitment Rules for the State Motor Garages and a major restructuring in the Health and Medical Education Department, including re-designation of Medical Superintendents, Deputy Medical Superintendents and Assistant Medical Superintendents as Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in Government Medical Colleges.
The meeting is also likely to discuss promotions of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) officers across multiple ranks, including Under Secretaries, Additional Secretaries and Special Secretaries. In addition, a proposal for creation of nine posts of District Ayush Officers is on the agenda, alongside revalidation of lecturer regularisation in the Education Department.
Sources further said that proposals related to creation of a supernumerary post of District Judge and clearance of key development projects across departments like Public Works, Rural Development and Housing and Urban Development are also expected to be taken up.
While Dearness Allowance for employees and pensioners is not formally listed in the agenda, officials indicated that it could be considered through a supplementary item.
All decisions taken in the meeting will be subject to the approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
