J&K Gets Major Boost in Medical Education as NMC Approves 120 New PG Seats

Jammu & Kashmir has received a significant push in medical education with the National Medical Commission approving 120 additional postgraduate seats, raising the total MD, MS and PG Diploma capacity in the Union Territory to 769.

The expansion across key specialities is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery, help retain local medical talent, and address the long-standing shortage of specialist doctors—particularly in rural and underserved areas.
