J&K govt sanctions free public transport for differently-abled persons

Srinagar, Sep 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sanctioned free travel for differently abled persons on public transport, fulfilling a key Budget announcement made in March this year. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in a post on X, the facility will cover Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) services, as well as e-buses operated by Jammu Smart City Limited and Srinagar Smart City Limited.

Congratulations to Transport Minister Satish Sharma on the initiative, the Chief Minister said it reflects the Government’s commitment to social justice and marks an important step towards ensuring greater accessibility, ease of travel and inclusive mobility across Jammu and Kashmir, the post reads.
