JAMMU, Apr 2 : In a major push towards digital governance and transparency, the Directorate of Horticulture Planning & Marketing, Jammu & Kashmir, has launched two key online services on the Jan Sugam Portal — Issuance of Fresh License for Trade and Renewal of License for Trade — pertaining to fruit and vegetable market operations.

The services, developed by the IT Cell of the Information Technology Department, were formally launched by Sh. Ghulam Jeelani Zargar (JKAS) in the presence of Sh. Devender Singh Bhau, Additional Secretary IT, Ms. Megha Khajuria, Head IT Cell, and other senior officials.

Officials described the move as a significant milestone in the digital transformation of horticulture and agriculture-related services in the Union Territory. The initiative is designed to make the trade licensing process time-bound, enhance transparency, and eliminate the need for traders and stakeholders to make physical visits to government offices.

The Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology for efficient service delivery and improving the overall experience for stakeholders in the agriculture and horticulture sector. (KNS)
