The force received the Institutional Performance Award for State Police during the Passport Seva Divas celebrations and Regional Passport Officers’ Conference held from June 17-19 at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan, New Delhi. The Certificate of Recognition and Plaque of Appreciation were presented by the Minister of State for External Affairs for J&K Police’s high level of service, commitment, and contribution to good governance through speedy police verification for passports.

Between April 2025 and March 2026, J&K Police completed 1,64,354 passport application verifications. Officials said the achievement reflects the department’s commitment to efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric service delivery.

The initiative has strengthened public trust, improved ease of travel, and supported both personal and professional needs of citizens, officials added. The recognition underscores J&K Police’s broader mission of delivering excellence in public service.
