Jammu and Kashmir police has warned people against sharing bank details and clicking on suspicious links.

In a warning, police in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal asked people to stay vigilant against payment fraud.

People may get a fake SMS that money has been deposited in their bank account. But do not fall prey for such messages, police said.

Police urged people not to click any suspicious links and share your personnel details.

Always verify the sender ID that appears at the top of the text message, police said adding call your bank if you have any concern. Donot share your OTP, CCV, and PIN to unknown persons and donot share your personnel credentials to unknown persons, police warned.

Lakhs of rupees were withdrawn from the account of several people in Jammu and Kashmir who had shared their banks details with fraudsters. However, the cyber cell of Jammu and Kashmir could help the victims to get back their money.

Cyber cell of the police have time and again warned people not to share personnel details, including bank account, with unknown persons.
