An extra ordinary meeting of J&K Radio and Doordarshan Artists and Freelance producers and directors Association was held today on 15th of November2020 in a restaurant at Boulevard Srinagar chaired by the President Tariq Javaid.Meetings of the Association in Jammu and Delhi were simaltaneously also conducted to highlight and discuss various burning issues which the artist fraternity is confronting for the last ten years.It was stressed upon the authorities of Prasar Bharti to mitigate sufferings of this fraternity and take immediate steps to :
1.Restore commissioning of fiction programmes at central level and local level which has been put on hold since 2010.
2.Release payments which are in limbo since 2010.
3.Stop the practice of telecasting too old serials which has compelled our viewers to switch over other channels as these serials are repeated several times and viewers get bored to watch old programmes time and again.There are programmes available with Doordarshan Srinagar(DD Kashir)submitted by the producers of the Kendra but the tapes are gathering dust for want of telecast as the payments are still in doldrums for unknown reasons.Viewers can be attracted towards the channel if these programmes are put on air giving the viewers afresh flavour and payments of these programmes should be released forthwith.
4.A competant and fullfledged Director should be posted in Doordarshan Srinagar with command and authority to look for a better future of the kendra with quality programmes.
