J&K Students Association expresses gratitude to LG Manoj Sinha, Secretary TAD Shahid Choudhary for clearing all Backlog Scholarship of Tribal Students Says a great relief for Students

J&K Students Association here today expressed gratitude to lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Secretary Tribal Affairs Department and CEO Mission Youth Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary for their Intervention in resolving long pending issue by clearing all pending Scholarship of tribal students.

In a Statement National Spokesperson of Association, Nasir Khuehami said that they express gratitude to Lieutenant Governor and Secretary Affairs in particular for the speedy redressal of issues related to pending and backlog scholarships of tribal students. 

He said the department is streamlining & moving on a right track with each passing day ever since Dr. Shahid Iqbal assumed the charge of its secretary. ” After holding deliberations with Secretary Tribal Affairs  few days back, the department has released the pending & backlog scholarships of the students, ” he said. 
Khuehami said that, the functioning of department is beyond appreciation now because earlier the students had to move from pillar to post and wait for months to get the scholarships. “Now, the process has been eased and student are getting the scholarship in due course for which we are indebted to Lieutenant Governor and Secretary Tribal Affairs”. 

He said Tribal affairs Department has approved highest ever outlay of Rs 30 Cr scholarship for tribal students in the current financial year to support them at Post-Graduate, Graduate, Post-Matric and Pre-Matric level. This year scholarship will be provided to 42,000 more students above previous years target. This also includes many cases of previous two years pending due to various reasons.

Coordinator of Association, Abbas Kashmiri also appreciated prompt response from Lieutenant Governor and Secretary Tribal Affairs adding that they have paid its valuable attention. He said that tribal students will have a sigh of relief in these testing times. “We had demanded to authorities to redress the long pending Scholarship and backlog issue this was made possible, “.

He said the swift and concrete measures of Secretary Tribal affairs are worth Eologizing. Though only six month into the mission, the stern and climacteric results are evident. We hope such splendid measures for upliftment of tribal students will follow, he added.
