In a Statement National Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said, we expressed gratitude and sincere thanks to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his prompt intervention to resume helicopter services and taking matter seriously with the Ministry of home affairs and resolved it on a priority basis. This will provide great relief to the students’ community as Students have been waiting for air connectivity for a long time.

He said that the resumption of helicopter service was indispensable for the students who were supposed to appear in the JKSSRB exams and other competitive exams. Helicopter service is paramount for far-flung and snow-clad areas like Gurez, Tangdhar and Machil which remains cut off from the rest of Union territory and country for almost six months because of inclement weather. The helicopter service is the only means to provide them round-the-year access to the rest of Union territory, he added.
