Srinagar, Apr 24: Jammu and Kashmir is set to host International Film Festival, marking a significant step toward promoting cinema, culture, and tourism in the Union Territory.

Officials said the festival is being planned as a grand, professionally managed event, drawing inspiration from the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The initiative aims to position J&K as a vibrant destination for film tourism while showcasing its rich cultural heritage on a global platform.

Screenings and related activities are proposed to be held across some of the region’s most scenic locations, including Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Bhaderwah, and Jammu. The event is expected to take place after the conclusion of the annual Amarnath Yatra to ensure smooth आयोजन and participation.

The festival is anticipated to attract filmmakers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts from across the country and abroad, opening new avenues for local talent and strengthening the region’s creative economy.

The move is being seen as a new chapter in J&K’s cultural journey, blending cinematic excellence with its breathtaking landscapes to create a unique international film experience.
