The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Spokesperson & Former MLC Ravinder Sharma has drawn the attention of the authorities towards the issue of patients including Ex-Servicemen patients, who are on regular treatment of some chronic ailments and sought a fool proof system of making the treatment and medicines available for such cases during lockdown and ongoing restrictions on transport.
Sharma said that the Chronic patients undergoing treatment for serious ailments through civil hospitals while Ex Servicemen including large numbers of Ex-Army men in rural areas are getting treatment and free medicines under ECHS, are facing hardships during lockdown and need attention of respective authorities.
The chronic patients should be able to have access to their hospitals of treatment on regular basis, as advised, to save their lives and there should be mechanism for their travel permission and transport to capital cities and other specialized hospitals.
Similarly, those Ex-Army personnel or their family members getting treatment and medicines from ECHS clinics are unable to reach the capital Hqs in view of ongoing restrictions and are facing great hardships, he said.
Sharma said the authorities concerned should create mechanism for their regular treatment and deliver of medicines from their nearest army units or military hospitals units.
Senior Congress leader asked the govt to ensure adequate quantity of PPEs and other required gears to the doctors and other health workers to examine the serious patients, seriously and fearlessly, at all peripheral hospitals too. In absence of necessary protective gears, the doctors are scared of thoroughly examining the other patents too, Shri Sharma said.
JKPCC Chief Spokesperson lauded the health workers and other Frontline workers for performing their duties under most difficult circumstances and asked people to fully support them and their cause.
He also lauded the civil and police administration for their efforts to deal with the situation and appreciated the police at several places doing good job to arrange ration and food for the stranded poor people through social contacts in the society, in the wake of shortfall in the official and Govt efforts to provide ration to the stranded people especially labour class.
He also lauded the efforts of various NGOs and individuals, local population beside Congress workers for carrying out relief works for the poor in their respective areas, so that no one remains hungry. These voluntary activities have helped a lot in feeding the poor and penny less people
