Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) has demanded release of Party President Dr Shah Faesal and other political prisoners.
In a statement, party Vice President Syed Iqbal Tahir urged that the administration must immediately revoke PSA imposed on Dr Shah Faesal and sought his immediate release.
Tahir further stated that the social media in J&K is flooded by messages from a huge number of people belonging to all regions of J&K, seeking Dr Faesal’s release from the detention. “Dr Faesal’s detention is a grave misuse of the Public Safety Act in Jammu & Kashmir and was extremely shocking, ” he said.
In response to the shifting of Mehbooba Mufti to her residence in Srinagar by the state administration, JKPM termed it insufficient and demanded removal of PSA imposed on her and other political prisoners. “Building trust with people is essential in fighting a huge Covid pandemic. In the wake of this pandemic, Govt must unconditionally release of all political prisoners being held in various jails inside and outside J&K, Tahir said in his statement, ” Tahir added.
