The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Wednesday said they are meeting today to look into the demands of deferment of KAS Mains examination.

Lateef-ul-Zaman Deva, Chairman JKPSC, said they are holding a meeting this morning to look into the demands of candidates who are facing issues due to adverse weather and closure of roads after fresh snowfall.

“We are looking into the demands of deferment of the exam. We are meeting today to look into the reports of candidates stuck on highways due to recent snowfall,”  said Deva.

Pertinently, the legislators had raised the issue in the assembly on Monday and sought deferment of the exam in view of adverse weather.

“The candidates are in distress and are seeking deferment of the exam in view of prevailing weather conditions,” CPI (M) legislator Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami had said, while demanding personal intervention of the chief minister.

As per already notified schedule, KAS Mains exams are scheduled tomorrow, February 15
