The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) conducted phase -II of Computer Based Written Test (CBT) Examination on Wednesday for various posts of Health & Medical Education Department advertised vide Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2021.

7755 candidates were scheduled to appear at 35 different locations/venues in Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla and Jammu districts in multiple batches from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm on 18.08.2021 for 96 posts out of which 5553 (71.06%) candidates actually appeared on 18.08.2021, Board spokesperson in a statement issued .

The CBT examination was conducted smoothly, fairly and transparently at all the designated 35 venues/ centres except in one hall of a particular examination centre at Jammu where 167 unique candidates were scheduled to appear in first Batch of CBT. The examination for aforesaid 167 candidates having examination centre at JKIT Institute of Technology Jammu has been re-scheduled due to technical issue in the Server.

It is important to mention that the IT team deployed at the venue were pressed-in to restore the systems so that the examination process could be resumed. However, some of the candidates starting indulging in side talks and tried to create disturbances for other candidates who were taking examination in adjacent Computer Lab. The JKSSB Observer, Magistrate and General Observer deployed by District Administration Jammu tried to explain, pacify & convince the candidate about the technical issue being faced and that such Examinations are being held in multiple batches due to capacity/ infrastructure constraints & that universally accepted ‘Normalisation’ procedures are applied for determination of merit rating.

The Chairman JKSSB upon receiving the information intervened immediately and directed Controller of Examination to inspect the spot who spoke to the concerned candidates. Besides, ADC Jammu District Observer, who was also on the spot has also been requested to furnish a detailed report about the incident after due verification of all aspects.

It is also clarified that all online CBT examinations are being hosted on a separate server with different question banks and that there is no bearing on the question bank hosted on the other server. The Board accordingly, taking cognizance of the matter and to ensure sanctity, integrity and the fairness of the CBT decided to re-schedule the said examination. The revised CBT examination is being notified separately.

Further, JKSSB reiterates its commitment to ensure fair and transparent examination and advises candidates scheduled to appear in forthcoming examinations to focus on the scheduled examination and not fall prey to unscrupulous and mischievous elements spreading misinformation through various deceptive means to hinder the process of transparent/ competitive recruitment initiated by the JKSSB for aspiring unemployed youth.

The JKSSB strongly negates uncalled for attempts by certain vested interest or some non-serious candidates under the garb of false pretexts, frivolous reasons or even ignorance about process to create false narratives or spread misinformation. (GNS)
