 Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation today launched Special Packages for the Pilgrims on the occasion of an interactive session held by Rafi Ahmad Mir, Vice Chairman JKTDC and Sarmad Hafeez (IAS), Managing Director JKTDC with the Tour & Travel Fraternity of the Valley at JKTDC Headquarters, TRC Srinagar.
The Packages launched are;
Special Package for Amarnathji Pilgrims: The pilgrims after performing the holy yatra can go for leisure with JKTDC at a subsidized package cost starting at just Rs.22999/- for 2 persons for 5 nights and 6 days. The package includes Accommodation with complimentary Breakfast and Transportation.
Sufi & Sant Package: The package has been devised for devotees who wish to visit the holy shrines & temples of the valley apart from cherishing the mesmerising beauty Kashmir at a subsidized cost starting at just Rs.24999/- for 2 persons for 5 nights and 6 days. The package includes Accommodation with complimentary Breakfast and Transportation.
Managing Director JKTDC apprised the travel fraternity that the Corporation is gearing up and is concerned for providing of quality services for its guests. Several initiatives have already been taken that include establishment of a centralized F&B outlet at Pahalgam for providing of quality food for the guests putting-in JKTDC cottages, upgradation of Nunkun Chinese Restaurant located on the banks of Dal Lake, developing its Mammer & Tangmarg Units as Picnic spots for the localites and announcing 50% discount on all JKTDC properties in the valley. The initiative was appreciated by the travel fraternity.
Vice Chairman JKTDC desired that it is the right time that the stake holders of the tourism industry of the state, Govt sector & the Private Players should shake hands for promotion of the state tourism especially in the present circumstances.
A deliberate discussion was held and every participant put forth its points of view for promoting J&K Tourism in general and JKTDC facilitations across the state in particular. The Management of JKTDC assured the Travel fraternity of every possible support required for execution of any proposal that the fraternity may propose to boost the sales of the Corporation & promote State tourism; the Travel trade fraternity reciprocated the same eagerness.

Farooq Kuthoo- Secy General Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK)
Nazir Ahmad – Chairman Association of Kashmir Tour Operators (AKTO)
Nasir Shah – Chairman Pilgrim & Leisure Tour Operators Forum (PILTOF)
M Yousuf Mundoo- Gen Secretary Adventure Tour Operators Of Kashmir (ATOAK)
Mohd Akram Siah- Chairman Tourist Trade Interest Guild (TTIG)
Abdul Hameed Wangnoo- President Domestic Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (DTOAK)
Shamim Ahmd Shah- Chairman Travel Agents Association of India -JK Chapter (TAAI-JKC)
G R Siah- Chairman Kashmir Houseboat Owners Association (HBOA)
Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Director Tourism was also present in the interactive session who assured for complete support on the part of Department of Tourism.
