In order to facilitate educated youth of the district with employment opportunities in different sectors, a day-long job fair was held at Government Degree College (GDC) Uri, here.

The fair was inaugurated by the Joint Director Employment Kashmir, Zeenat Ara in presence of Principal GDC Uri and Assistant Director Employment, Career Counseling Officer, Employment Officer, and Young Professional of DE&CC Baramulla.The daylong mega job fair programme was organised by District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC/MCC) Baramulla in active collaboration with GDC Uri.As many as 10 employers from different sectors including Banking, Finance, Insurance, Transport, IT, construction, Civil Aviation etc participated in the event.The event also witnessed an overwhelming response from job seekers as around 739 plus youth from across the district participated in the programme. 107 candidates were shortlisted for 600 plus Vacancies offered by 10 Employers/Job Provides across the sectors, 23 candidates were given offer letters on spot.Further, 211 on spot registrations were made and 28 candidates were identified for skill development training courses to be conducted by RSETI Baramulla.Various company representatives also addressed the youth and made them aware about the changing requirement of industry and job skills required for employment in the contemporary times.
