New Delhi, Sep 1st : The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The recommendation was made during the Collegium’s meeting held on August 31, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Supreme Court.

Justice Bhati is presently serving as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court and has been recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Collegium has also recommended the elevation of Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, presently of the Chhattisgarh High Court, as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, while Justice Alpesh Yeshwant Kogje of the Gujarat High Court has been recommended as Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The recommendations are subject to the prescribed process and formal appointment by the competent authority.
