The Kalantra–Keeri–Srinagar road has been completely blocked due to heavy snowfall, causing severe difficulties for commuters and transport operators in the area.

The closure has affected bus drivers, sumo operators, patients, employees, students, and the general public, disrupting daily life.

While the Gulmarg and Baramulla roads have been restored by the authorities, the Kalantra–Keeri–Srinagar road, a key route connecting several localities to Srinagar, remains uncleared.

As a result, hundreds of commuters are stranded, patients are unable to reach hospitals on time, and employees and students are missing work and classes.

Transport operators have also reported significant financial losses due to the prolonged disruption.

Drivers expressed frustration over the delay in road clearance, calling the situation alarming and unbearable for the people dependent on the route.

Residents and transporters have urged the MLA Baramulla and district administration to take immediate steps to restore the road.

They said the Kalantra–Keeri–Srinagar road is a lifeline for thousands of people and any delay in its clearance is adding to the suffering of the public.
