Srinagar, Sep 18 : The qualified candidates for Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS)-2016 preliminary exams who have been dropped by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission after it came up with a new list of candidates following the controversy over wrong answer keys shown against 24 questions Monday alleged that JKPSC has been violating court directions and there are grim chances that they could be allowed to sit in the Mains Examination.

Court has already passed directions asking JKPSC to allow 429 candidates in the Mains Examination till its final verdict, however, the dropped out candidates claim that JKPSC has been dodging them and till date the Commission has made no correspondence with them in this regard.

“We were preparing for Mains exams after we were declared successful, but now they have dropped us from the list. It is sheer injustice. Even the court has asked PSC to allow us to sit in the Mains Examination but they are using dilly dally tactics,” a group of aggrieved candidates complained to news agency CNS.

The candidates blamed Commission for making “mockery” of high level competitive exams. “We will hit streets if PSC didn’t come clear on the issue. They must show us our OMR sheets through RTI,” they said.

“The irony is that access to OMR sheets are denied to us even through Right to Information Act,” said the dropped out candidates.

Pertinently, after a controversy, Public Service Commission In the fresh list dropped 429 out of 6925 candidates who were declared qualified earlier, citing they could not make to the revised cutoff merit of 277.275 marks after applying revised answer keys.

When contacted, In charge Chairman Public Service Commission, Mr Lal Chand said they are waiting for the final verdict of Honorable Court. “We will comply with the court orders and if it directs us to allow the dropped out candidates to sit in the Mains examination, we will surely oblige,” he said.
