Srinagar, April 23, 2026 – In a significant step towards ecological restoration, Kashmir Concern (NGO), in collaboration with Green Valley Sumo Stand, today launched a major plantation drive under the ambitious ‘Mission 1 Million Trees’ at Haft Chinar, Srinagar.
The event commenced and witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, environmental activists, and media personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from many organizations which include HELP POOR VOLANTARY TRUST (HPVT) chairman Kashmir Concern and Dr Touseef Bhatt also known as Tree man of Kashmir reiterated the organization’s commitment to making Kashmir greener and cleaner. The Mission 1 Million Trees initiative aims to combat deforestation, restore green cover, and raise awareness about environmental conservation across the valley.
President Green valley Afaq Khan said The plantation drive at Haft Chinar marks the beginning of a series of events planned by the NGO in partnership with local stakeholders. Green Valley Sumo Stand extended full support for the initiative, providing venue and logistical assistance.
Rouf Ahanger Sectary General and Legal Advisor Zahoor Dar said Community members were encouraged to join the movement and contribute to a sustainable future. The event also highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing climate challenges facing the region.
