Srinagar, Nov 29 :Kashmir Valley continued to reel under cold conditions on Friday night as minimum temperatures dropped sharply across most stations, according to data compiled by independent weather channel Kashmir Weather.

After days of steady decline, several areas recorded deep sub-zero temperatures, signalling a further intensification of winter chill.

As per details available with news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), multiple locations in the Kashmir region remained well below freezing.

Srinagar settled at -3.1°C, while Qazigund dipped to -3.4°C. Pahalgam was among the coldest at -5.2°C, followed closely by Kupwara at -4.9°C. Pampore recorded an icy -6.0°C, and Awantipora touched -5.0°C, making both spots significantly colder than the previous day.

Other major stations in the Valley also witnessed severe night temperatures.
Kokernag recorded -1.6°C, Gulmarg stood at -1.3°C, and Srinagar Airport dropped to -5.2°C.

In north Kashmir, Zethan Rafiabad touched -5.6°C, while the coldest point remained Zojila Pass, freezing at a bitter -16.0°C.

In the Jammu region, most areas stayed above the freezing mark, offering some respite compared to Kashmir.

Jammu recorded 9.4°C, while Katra settled at 8.6°C and Kathua at 7.8°C.
Banihal, however, slipped close to the zero mark at -0.3°C, followed by Bhaderwah at 0.4°C, Udhampur at 4.0°C, Rajouri at 1.2°C, and Batote at 4.4°C.

Ladakh continued to witness severe cold as temperatures plunged further.

Leh recorded -9.0°C, Kargil dropped to -10.2°C, and Nubra Valley remained extremely cold at -8.5°C, marking one of the harshest nights of the season so far. (KNC)
