Kashmir Jurists Bar Association Delegation Meets Union Law Minister in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 11:  A high-level delegation of the Kashmir Jurists Bar Association (KJBA) comprising President Adv. Altaf Ganderbali, Patron Adv. Kanwal Krishan Wangnoo, and Chief Coordinator Adv. Tajamul Choudhary, called on the Union Minister for Law & Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, at his residence, 5, Kamraj Marg, New Delhi.

During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Hon’ble Minister of various issues concerning the welfare of advocates in Jammu & Kashmir. The discussions focused on strengthening institutional support for the legal fraternity, improvement of infrastructure in courts, provision of welfare schemes for young and senior advocates, enhancement of security measures, and facilitation of professional growth opportunities for members of the Bar.

The delegation emphasized the need for special attention towards advocates practicing in Jammu & Kashmir in view of the unique geographical and professional challenges faced by them. They also sought the intervention of the Union Law Ministry in addressing long-pending concerns related to welfare funds, chambers, library facilities, and other essential amenities for advocates.

The Union Law Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that the genuine concerns of the legal fraternity of Jammu & Kashmir would be examined sympathetically and appropriate steps would be taken in accordance with law.

The Kashmir Jurists Bar Association expressed gratitude to Arjun Ram Meghwal for granting time and extending his support towards the welfare of advocates.
