Mirwaiz, who is under house arrest from past more than three weeks, tried to defy the detention only to be arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir police.

“As I defied house arrest to lead Jinazah prayers of my maternal uncle & close aide Tariq Ahmed Buch, Arrested & detained at police station!” tweeted the Mirwaiz.

Mirwaiz told our correspondent Abid Bashir that he had asked the police officers to accompany him to the funeral of his uncle.

“I asked them (police officers) to place me under detention again after offering the funeral of my uncle. But they didn’t listen,” he said
