Gulmarg, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Kashmir Valley, along with several other areas, experienced fresh snowfall today, transforming the landscape into a stunning winter wonderland.

The snowfall blanketed the region in a thick layer of white, making the surroundings look picturesque and inviting.

This snowfall was not limited to the mountainous areas of the valley, where snow is commonly expected during this time of year. Locals were excited to witness the snowfall in the plains.

The Meteorological Department in Srinagar had predicted snowfall in the higher reaches and some plains of the valley, including parts of South Kashmir. Their accurate forecast came as a relief to many, especially since the region had been experiencing dry spells in recent weeks.

Areas in the higher reaches of South Kashmir also saw snowfall, adding to the region’s winter charm.

The fresh snowfall is expected to positively impact tourism, with visitors eager to experience the snow-covered landscapes that Kashmir is renowned for. Tourists from across the country and abroad are expected to flock to the valley, especially with the holiday season approaching.

As the snowfall continues, authorities remain on alert to ensure the safety and functionality of transportation and communication networks in the affected areas, providing ease for both locals and tourists. The region, known for its scenic beauty, is set to see a rise in visitors, which will likely give a boost to the local economy during this winter season.(KNS)
