Reports said that police and paramilitary personnel deployed outside the Geelani’s residence disallowed the participants to enter the seminar venue.

As part of its series of political programmes, JRL had planned a seminar on “human Rights Violations in Kashmir and Criminal Silence of World Community” today.

While Geelani is already under house detention, Mirwaiz was placed under house arrest at his residence in Nigeen on Thursday.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik has gone into hiding to prevent his arrest ahead of proposed December 10 march to the UN office in Sonawar.
