Kashmir Rainbow Film Festival Kicks Off at Tagore Hall

20th August 2024 – Srinagar: The inaugural day of the Kashmir Rainbow Film Festival, a two-day event organized by the Kashmir Performers Collective and Chinaar Mediaworks, took place today at Tagore Hall. The festival celebrated diverse cinematic expressions, showcasing a range of films that highlight global and local narratives.

The screenings began with “The 9th Act,” an experimental documentary exploring the theme of globalization. This was followed by “Qouluf,” a Kashmiri feature film delving into spirituality. The day continued with “Tasavuf,” a documentary film that investigates mysticism, and concluded with “Ibtida,” a feature film in Urdu adapted from Ayn Rand’s renowned novel, “The Fountainhead.”

The festival will continue tomorrow, 21st August 2024, with a new selection of films. The second day will feature two feature films and two documentary films, offering attendees a further glimpse into the rich and varied world of cinema.
