In continuation of its steadfast efforts towards eradication of drug menace from the society, Budgam Police has arrested 03 drug Peddlers and recovered Psychotropic substance from their Possession.
A Police spokesperson said that the Police party of Police Station Khag established a Check Point at Hardu Suresh, Khag where they noticed three suspicious persons carrying a nylon bag. On seeing the Police party, they tried to flee away from the spot but they were apprehended tactfully.
“During their personal search Charas like substance weighing about 55 grms and 03 kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from their possession. They were arrested on spot and were subsequently identified as:Rayees Ahmed Khan S/o Mohd Shaban Khan, Irfan Ahmed Dar S/o Ab Rashid Dar & Firdous Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Ahmad Bhat R/o Hardu Suresh Khag.
“In this regard a case bearing FIR No. 66/2024 u/s 8/15 20, 29 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Khag and investigation has been initiated”, he said.
The people of Budgam are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Budgam Police assures that the identity of the informer will not be divulged.
