In his address, Abdul Rahim Rather lauded the efforts of the JKAACL and the Yemberzal Foundation for bringing forth such a meaningful and culturally rooted presentation. He appreciated the team for highlighting the glorious spiritual, social, and cultural traditions of Kashmir through a creative and thought-provoking medium.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Director Bihari Kak spoke about the concept and creative vision behind “Sath Te Satisar”, describing it as a symbolic journey from the mythological formation of the Valley to its evolving social and cultural identity. He said the production is an ode to the resilience, harmony, and undying hope of the Kashmiri people.

The Chief Guest, Shri Abdul Rahim Rather, felicitated the Yemberzal Foundation team with a memento in the presence of Dr. Javaid Rahi, Divisional Head, JKAACL Jammu, and Anil Tickoo, Assistant Cultural Officer, JKAACL.

The play “Sath Te Satisar” draws inspiration from the legendary tale of Satisar—the mythical water body that once covered the present-day Kashmir Valley.

The production skillfully weaves together the geological, historical, and spiritual journey of the land, revisiting eras of glory, spirituality, and turbulence. It highlights the teachings of Rishi Kashap, Adi Shankaracharya, Sufi Saints, and other luminaries who shaped the ethos of the Valley, while reflecting on periods of intellectual and cultural renaissance, including the reign of Zain-ul-Abidin (Budshah).

True to its title, “Sath”—meaning Hope—the production symbolizes the unbroken spirit of coexistence, faith, and cultural unity of the people of Kashmir.

The opera’s musical richness, featuring powerful solo and choral renditions, enhanced the emotional depth of the performance and struck a chord with the audience.

The ensemble cast included prominent artists Kamal Razdan, King C. Bharti, Ajay Waguzari, Pammi Zutshi, Ashok Zalpuri, Suman Pandita, Rahul Pandita, Vinay Pandita, Rani Bhan, Ashok Kalloo, Bharti Zaroo, Ashik Zaifrani, and Manoj Jad, who brought alive historical and mythical characters such as Rishi Kashap, Mouj Kasheer, Lal Ded, Shamas Faqeer, Habba Khatoon, and Mehjoor.

Dr. Javaid Rahi presented the vote of thanks to the dignitaries, artists, and audience.
