Alas, a thousand times alas — the eminent bureaucrat and social figure who held many key government positions, Al-Haj Nazir Ahmad Mattoo, resident of House No. 12, Gulberg Colony, Sector‑3, Hyderpora, Srinagar, passed away after a brief illness. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
The departed was a devout observer of prayers and fasting, an exceptionally honest, sincere personality imbued with a spirit of service to humanity. May Allah elevate the ranks of the deceased ever higher and grant us the strength to bear this loss. Ameen.
The collective Fateha Khwani will, God willing, be held on Thursday, 31 July 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the ancestral graveyard Mallah Khah, near Police Station Nowhatta, Srinagar.
