“Kissan Pakhwada campaign” DC Ganderbal calls for devising strategy to achieve outcome

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired meeting of line departments to discuss the strategy and arrangements to be made for achieving desirable outcome while observing “Kissan Pakhwada from 7th July to 21st July 2020.

“Kissan Pakhwada” is observed with a view in enhancing the flow of advances in agriculture sector and double the income of farmers by way of their 100 percent involvement in agricultural related welfare schemes like KCC, PM-KISSAN, RKVY, NMSA, etc.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, Chief Planning officer, Anika Mushtaq, SDM Kangan, ACR, CMO, all tehsildars, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries, Lead Bank manager Ganderbal, Cluster Head and other concerned.

Objectives that are laid down for observing Kissan Pakhwada like Saturation of KCC to 100% farmers, foolproof final list of beneficiaries under PM Kissan, removal of bottlenecks for farmers in obtaining loans against KCC, credit to primary agriculture sector, massive awareness regarding schemes available for farmers, organizing Kissan melas, etc were discussed threadbare.

To achieve the desired outcome at the ground, the DC called for devising specific strategy and sought cooperation at all levels from all stakeholders.

For achieving 100 percent KCC Saturation, the DC directed the SDM Kangan Tehsildars, agriculture department and allied wings to associate themselves with “Kissan Pakhwada” and help the intending eligible beneficiaries related to their sector to approach bank branches for issuance of KCC besides

provide handholding in submitting applications to banks as well as obtaining approval for credit thereof.

Regarding awareness, the DC stressed for involving the experts of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries deparment to make farmers aware of various schemes, technological upgradation required, new seeds and new technologies of cultivation.

While discussing the status of PM-Kissan, the DC asked the tehsildars to share the list of eligible farmers of the district with Agriculture department at the earliest so that the final list is consolidated to achieve the target on time.

Lead Bank manager Ganderbal and cluster head J&K Bank Ganderbal was directed  to ensure that at all  bank branches of the district have proper hoardings, literatures regarding various schemes available and ensure that branches are disposing favourably loan applications available within a stipulated timeframe so that a substantial credit is approved and disbursed before or during Kissan Pakhwada.

The DC urged upon all the stake holders to ensure guidelines and SOPs related to COVID-19 are followed while carrying out activities related to the campaign.
