Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Kulgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers while patrolling during intervening night of 14/15 November in the jurisdiction of Police Post Frisal intercepted two persons in suspicious condition at Main Market Frisal who after noticing police party tried to escape from the spot but was tactfully nabbed by the patrolling party.
They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Ganie resident of Frisal and Shahid Ahmad Bhat resident of Brazloo Yaripora. During checking, officers were able to recover Heroin and cash ₹6000- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR numbers 144/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
