Kulgam police solved hit and run case within days and arrested the accused from the district.
On 29-12-2021, an information was received at Police Station Kulgam from reliable sources that one motorcyclist namely Jahangir Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Subhan Dar resident of Shurat, Kulgam was hit by one unknown vehicle at Laroo area under the jurisdiction of PS Kulgam. The driver of the unknown vehicle fled away from the spot along with the vehicle after hitting the motorcyclist, resulting his on spot death.
On the information, a case with FIR No. 258/2021 U/S 279-304A IPC was registered at P/S Kulgam and investigation was set into motion. On this special dedicated police team of P/S Kulgam was constituted.
The team with strenuous efforts utilized all available means of investigative techniques and arrested the accused (driver of the vehicle) within two days. The accused driver has been identified as Mashooq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Salam Dar resident of DH Pora and the vehicle bearing registration number DL5CK-9240 (Swift Car) involved in commission of crime has been also recovered and seized.
Meanwhile, Further investigation of the case are still on.
