A railway department employee was killed after a motorcycle he was travelling on met with an accident at Udhampur area of Jammu district on Thursday evening.
Nazeer Ahmed Rather, son of Abdul Majeed Rather, a resident of Sopat, Tangapura, Kulgam, was on his way to Jammu along with his family last night when the accident took place near Takri Udhampur. He left behind an old father, wife and young children.

Police have registered a case in this regard and initiated further investigation.
Meanwhile, bureau south Kashmir, Farooq Rather, Ex. MLC Devsar, Mohd Amin Bhat and DDC member Ishtiyaq Hussain Ganaie have expressed condolences with the family members of Rather and have prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
