Kupwara : Now Teenage Boy Drowns in Lolab Area

Hours after a drowning incident in Villgam area, another teenage boy, in a fresh incident is being reported to have drowned in Dorousa of Lolab area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching said that one 19-year-old Mohammad Aqib Dar, son of Ishtiyaque Ahmad Dar, resident of Bhat Mohalla Dorousa is feared to have drowned in the pond. The teenager boy was part of a group who was bathing in the pond, when the colleagues apprehended him to have drowned. The colleagues and locals first tried to look for him on their own, however once they failed, they roped in Sogam police and a nearby army unit for rescue operation.

However, on filing of this report, the teenager was yet to be traced.

Notably, earlier in the day a 20-year-old youth went missing from a pond, while bathing, in Punzwa village of Villgam area and efforts were on to locate him. (GNS)
