Legal Metrology Department books 205 Erring Traders

Legal metrology in a statement that the field executives of Legal Metrology department conducted 2605 market inspections during the month of October, 2020 in which 205 erring traders were booked and penalized for violating Legal Metrology Laws.

The traders booked include grocery-shops, vegetable-sellers, Mutton-sellers, Poultry-sellers etc. In addition to this, 37 cooking-gas distributors/home-delivery boys were booked and penalized at Rs. 65,200/- for over-charging etc. The Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have fixed a retail sale price of refill cooking gas cylinders for the month of November 2020 for districts of the Srinagar,Budgam,Anantnag,Kulgam,Bandipora,Pulwama,Shopian,Ganderbal as Rs. 710/- including subsidy amount.

The rates fixed for Baramulla and places like Dooru and Pahalgam as Rs. 718.50/- where as for District Kupwara the rate fixed is Rs. 727/-. The consumers were informed by department to lodge the genuine complaints with the department on the toll-free Number: 1800-180-7114 during office hours.
