Police on Sunday identified the militant killed in the gunfight with security forces in Harwan area of Srinagar as Saifulla alias Abu Khalid alias Shawaz, a resident of Pakistan’s Karachi affiliated with the Lashkar outfit.
Khalid, as per IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, had infiltrated in 2016 and was active in general area of Harwan ever since.
“SrinagarEncounterUpdate: Killed #millitant identified as Saifulla @ Abu Khalid @ Shawaz, resident of Karachi (#Pakistan), affiliated with proscribed #terror outfit LeT. He infiltrated in 2016 & was active in general area of Harwan & involved in several terror crimes,” IGP Kashmir said in a statement.
The IGP further informed that three Pakistani militants have been killed in Srinagar city in the last 33 days.
“03 #Pakistani #millitant killed in #SrinagarCity within 33days. They were involved in several terror crimes including attacks on Police/SFs & civilian killings. It shows that Pakistan is hell-bent to disturb peace in valley especially in Srinagar City”.
