SRINAGAR 02 MAY : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the promotion of two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

According to Government Order No. 265-Home of 2026 dated May 2, 2026, issued by the Home Department, sanction has been accorded for the elevation of Mudasser Ahmed Tramboo (KPS-1258) and Vaseem Mehmood (KPS-1257) from DySP (General Cadre) to SP (Level-11) in the pay matrix of Rs 67,700–Rs 2,08,700 with immediate effect.

The order was issued with the approval of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

The document further stated that the promotions shall remain subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions.
