DODA, JUNE 18 2020

Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu, during his visit to Doda district, interacted with Chairpersons of Block Development Councils, Presidents of all the Municipalities and Sarpanches of the district.

The BDC Chairpersons and PRI representatives highlighted various issues of public importance including road connectivity, water supply, health infrastructure etc.

The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to their issues and ensured them that the government is committed to strengthen the grass root institutions of democratic setup as per the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments.

He observed that the UT Government has rolled out mechanism for the recruitment of 10,000 youth for different posts, to address the issue of unemployment. He said that the recruitment rules have already been framed so that the benefit could reach the most deserving.

‘Initiatives shall be taken by the District Administration and the public representatives to counsel unemployed youth in this regard, so that they can be benefitted’, he added.

The Lt Governor also urged the PRIs and Municipalities, besides the District Administration machinery to spread the awareness among public about precautionary measures against COVID-19 virus.
