Satish Kumar Sharma son of prominent Congress leader Madan Lal Sharma, who had served as Cabinet Minister as well as Member of Parliament from Jammu-Poonch constituency for two consecutive terms in 2004 and 2009, has encroached upon 65 kanals of State land at Khasra No. 424 at village Lalyal in Marh area of Jammu district.

Satish Sharma, who himself is a Congress leader, is currently contesting the District Development Council (DDC) election from Bhalwal Brahamana Territorial constituency in Akhnoor as an Independent candidate after being denied mandate by the party.
Besides being Member of Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma has also represented Akhnoor Assembly constituency.

Mula Ram, also a prominent Congress leader and former Cabinet Minister along with his three brothers got 12 kanals land under Roshni Scheme regularized at Marh for just Rs 1200.

Separately, Mula Ram alone got three kanals of land regularized at Marh under Roshni Scheme for Rs 315.

Mula Ram had represented Marh constituency in the Legislative Assembly.

Shoaib, a relative of former Congress leader Aijaz Khan, who is presently in Apni Party, has encroached upon 56 kanals and 16 marlas of land at Khasra No. 431 at village Lalyal in Marh area of Jammu district.

Aijaz Khan remained MLA from Gool-Arnas Assembly constituency for three consecutive terms. Sometime back, he had resigned from the Congress and joined the Apni Party.

Imran Beigh, a businessman who runs Beigh Construction Company has encroached upon five kanals of land at Channi Rama while Shaffi, a property dealer has grabbed 20 kanals land in Jammu.

Rafeeq Manhas, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) has encroached upon one kanal land at Channi Rama.

The Government has already made public names of many prominent politicians, former bureaucrats and businessmen who have regularized land either under Roshni Scheme or encroached upon the State land at various places across Jammu and Kashmir.
