Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday clarified that the man who was arrested by NIA for having links with tainted police officer, Davinder Singh is not part of the party anymore.

Pertinently, a man identified as Tariq Ahmed Mir was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) yesterday in connection with a case related to disgraced police officer Davinder Singh. Mir who hails from Pulwama was actually residing at Sheeri Baramulla, wherefrom he was picked by the investigating agency.

BJP spokesperson clarified that Mir was ousted from the party in 2018 and the party has nothing to do with a person like Mir who is having a criminal record.

“We don’t support people having links with militants or any other anti-national organization,” the spokesperson said. ( KNT )
