A man died while another was rescued in a critical condition after drowning in Lidder river in Trail Seer Hamadan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.

An official told that two persons drowned in Lidder river in Seer Hamadan area today evening following which people present there tried to rescue them. 

He said that one was rescued in a critical condition while another one died on the spot. 

The deceased has been identified as Masroor Ahmad of Trail Anantnag and the injured has been identified as Abdul Rashid Bhat of Dargund Anantnag. 

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident
