Anantnag, Oct 21, 2017, Kashmir Pen : Police on Saturday said that a young man faked his own hair-cutting to instigate violence in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

A top police official said that Bilal Ahmad Mir (26) affiliated with a political party told people in Dooru village that some unknown persons had cut his hair after barging inside his house through a broken glass.

‘My finger was also hurt while trying to catch hold of the attackers,’ he had told the residents, said the official.

Later, an announcement was made on the public address system of the local mosque asking people to come out and stage a protest.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) dismissed the claim as “pure fabrication”.

“We have questioned the individual. His story is purely fabricated and concocted. We again appeal to the people to maintain claim and don’t pay heed to rumours,” he said.

Meanwhile, another official claimed that Mir was paid by a political party to create law and order situation in the area.
