Srinagar, Jan 17 : Police apprehended a man during naka checking at Munwarabad area of Central Kashmir Srinagar and recovered 1.6 kilogram of heroin from his possession, officials said on Saturday late evening.

A top police officer confirmed to news agency Kashmir News Corner—(KNC) that the accused has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hussain, a resident of Ichgam, Budgam he said.
A case in this connection has been registered at Police Station Khanyar under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway the officer added.—(KNC)
