Man kills elderly father in JK’s Ramban

Banihal (JK), Nov 22 (PTI)

In a shocking incident, A 70 -year-old man was allegedly axed to death by his son in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district, the police said today.

The accused, Nazir, fled the scene after attacking his father, Abdul Majeed, at Chabba Dhamote village, a police official said, adding that efforts were on to arrest him.

He said the father-son duo reportedly entered into a heated argument over some issue in their house on Sunday, and in a fit of rage, Nazir attacked his father with the axe, causing grievous head injuries to him.

He was rushed to the district hospital in Ramban and after initial treatment was referred to the Government Medical College, Jammu where he succumbed to injuries yesterday, the official said.

He said the police has registered a murder case in this connection.
