Man seriously injured in bear attack in Budgam, hospitalized

A 58-year-old man seriously injured after a bear attacked him close to a forested area here in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

As per reports, Ghulam Qadir Sheikh son of Mohammad Satar Sheikh, resident of Shoplain Khag was on his way to work when a bear came in his way and left him seriously injured.

He was later rescued by some locals passing close to him. Locals threw stones on the bear after which he left hold of him and later

escaped.

Qadir was later rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors shifted him to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment as his condition was critical.

A purported video of the incident has gone viral over social media where locals are seen rescuing Qadir.
