Budgam, July 12 : The Local residents of Mazhama village in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district blocked the Srinagar- Gulmarg road on Friday, demanding the government to supply portable drinking water to the village.
The residents said that the lack of proper drinking water supply in the village was the reason for their road blockade.
“We urge the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure a sufficient drinking water supply for the village,” said one protester.
Upon the arrival of the Station House Officer from the Magam Police Station, traffic movement was restored on both sides of the road.
An official from the Magam Police Station confirmed that traffic movement had resumed on the Srinagar-Gulmarg road.
